April 25, 1665
ROGER NEVILLE, sold to ARTHUR SKINNER, his father-in-law,
all claims to the estate of “WILLIAM NEVILLE my Father."
May 16, 1665
ARTHUR SKINNER bought 125 acres from JOHN NEVILL
of Nansemond.
March 26, 1666
ARTHUR SKINNER was one of 125 persons transported
by Talifro and Smith for which a patent for 6300 acres was granted
this date in Rappahannock County.
February 8, 1671
ARTHUR SKINNER sold to THOMAS PITT plantation
"where I now live" "being one half of 500 acres formerly
in tenure of THOMAS BUTLER and now of ARTHUR SKINNER and ANTHONY
HOLLIDAY" 250 acres running from out of New Towne Haven River
and 125 acres granted to JOHN NEVILLE and wife ELIZABETH to ARTHUR
April 18, 1679
JOYCE CRIPPS will names MARY SKINNER as her sister
and “SUSAN” BRASWELL as the daughter of her sister. To her sister
she gave 1300 acres of land on Blackwater, to her niece one shilling.
She also mentioned "my mother FLAKE."
June 7, 1630
MARY SKINNER, widow, sold GEORGE CRIPPS of Blackwater
the 1300 acres she received from JOYCE CRIPPS, her late sister,
deceased, wife of said GEORGE CRIPPS.
September 7, 1680
MARY SKINNER had married JOHN COLLINS by this
date.
October 1, 1694
"Order is granted SUSANNA BRASWELL against
JOHN COLLING, SR., for four hundred pounds of tobacco for looking
after COLLING’s wife in her late extremity when she was beaten by
COLLING, with costs.”
